Book: See Through Words

Author: Ravish Mani

Genre: Spiritual | Motivational

Morality comes from within and it can only develop through introspecting”, says the author Ravish Mani, in his book ‘See Through Words’ as he ‘Uncopyrights’ the book effortlessly. For a quality life, and to seek that lies beyond the sight, aligning of mind, body and spirit is important. Since time immemorial, ways of life like Dhyana, Meditation, and Zen have been providing that introspection to germinate the seed of wisdom and embrace the true essence of existence.

In this book, the author introduces the readers to various aspects of life and philosophies, with the central ‘Zen’ way of living, and helps understand the difference between ‘simply looking’ and ‘seeing profoundly’.

Book Cover and Title-

The Book Cover is alluringly interesting, as the Book Title stands out amidst the maze of words, perfectly implying the intent of the book ‘See Through Words’. The blue color is a symbol of serenity, inspiration, and wisdom, and it fits with the motive of the book, as much as it soothes the eyes.

The title of the book is well-suited to the purpose of the book.

Know the Author

Ravish Mani is a spiritualist and his analytical abilities, multidimensional perspectives, and helping nature, has made him well-known in the blogosphere. A Bio-technologist by profession, he is a business and leadership consultant who has been writing online for more than 15 years.

He delves into the minds of people through their writings, and the introvert in him persuades him to take the route of intensive reading to understand people. An author of multiple books, he shares his mind’s creations through his Website

Sneak peek to the Book

The book is divided into six different chapters and each segment traverses through the inter-connected multi-layers of philosophies as they unfold the origin and meaning of Zen, mysteries of existence, dimensions, and language of mystics, the door to eternity, the myth around the concept of enlightenment, and inculcating Dhyana in the everyday living.

The narrative is comprehensible and keeps the readers hooked to the elements throughout. Slices of information like “Why Facebook is blue”, and quick exercises to understand the process of Dhyana is very engaging, and a refreshing detour from the continuum of deep reading.

Excerpts from the book and my understanding

When you see through anything, you see everything. It isn’t about what you do, but how you do

The book explains the difference between the concepts of Dhyana, Meditation, and Zen- A way of Dhyana. While meditation is ‘an act of doing’, Dhyana is ‘a state of being’. Zen is simply ‘an attitude towards life’.

When a 7-year-old learns from a Zen guru, the concept of life and death and existence, she still laughingly says she will not use this knowledge in the outside world of hers. Isn’t that something to ponder about- why have we built such a world around us that it is so intimidating for someone to share the knowledge of truth with others?

The Key cannot be communicated verbally

Read on to understand the importance of ‘Experiencing nothingness’ and the ‘Paradoxical Existence’ as the book unlocks the key to why ‘Laughter is a No-Thought state’ and why words are merely a distraction.

Truth can only be shown and not stated

When and how is the mind most alert? Move on to the next segment to find out as you explore through the state of no-thought, awareness, and bliss.

It is not in the colors of objects but understanding of colors within

A powerful thought in itself! And in this chapter, the author explains how to see through the words, break the chain of thoughts, and imbibe the true essence of something.

If everything is about understanding then why is dhyana practiced

In the last chapter, probe into the true purpose of Dhyana.

Concluding thoughts

In the chaotic world of today and prevalent widespread fright, an inspirational book like “See Through Words” is a definite read to understand the inner peace and explore the philosophies of Zen. It helps rise above the commonality of seeing things, to a scholarly sighting of beyond words. Although the book is a swift read, the essence of it is bound to linger on.
