As an aspiring writer myself, I am delighted to have an opportunity to support a first-time Author presenting her debut novel. The course of translating the flow of words into a book and the courage of putting it out there on a shelf for the public to read it, judge it and appreciate it, can be both endearing and exigent. I am glad I booked my copy of this book and had the chance to read it.
The book journeys the life of Meera who is from a middle-class family from Meerut and has grown up with a single most dream of making it into the world of Acting. The story beholds her undying spirit of overcoming the barriers of a small-town struggle in the city lights of Mumbai, her lucky and much-deserved big break in a Television show and her fame of becoming a beloved household name.
An ugly twist in her fairy-tale life which leaves her shocked and broken to the core, and then her expedition in reestablishing a foothold over her scattered self through the support of her family and true friends is the essence of the storyline which rightly highlights “ Life is not about chasing your dreams, sometimes it could be about finding them”.
The flow of the story and the unfolding incidents keep the readers engaged throughout. I loved how seamlessly the writer has maintained the hook-points and the queries arising in the minds of a reader are successfully resolved as the story moves ahead. There is hardly any room for unsettled aspects in the well-executed plot. The grim reality of the cinematic world and the influence of social media in this technology-driven era is nicely portrayed.
The language is simple and comfortable for all readers. The grammatical errors in the narration although don’t otherwise diminish the motive of the content, but the absence of which would have increased the interest multifold.
Overall it is a good read with a steaming mug of coffee on a comfortable evening.
