Book: It’s Punny, Oops, I mean Funny
Author: Namita Das
Genre: Humor | Contemporary
Format: Paperback |Kindle Edition
Pages: 129
An aspiring writer under the spell of ‘writers’ block’ makes diverted attempts to create a bestseller, and soon instigates a sequence of humorous incidents giving way to laughter riots, thoughts to ponder, and a warm feeling of familiarity in the situations. The idea of the book finally germinates and crystalizes, as the author compiles her real-life episodes with Mr. Husband, and the progress of their conjugal life in a ‘potboiler’ submersed in witty punchlines, intrinsic humor, necessary sarcasm, and relatable anecdotes.
Book Cover and Title
The title is aptly suited to the book, because what follows as you turn those pages is an absolute fun adventure! And as the author points out ‘read between the lines’ since there are ‘no puns intended’.
The cover of the book is adorable and wants you to pause and take a shine to the cozy feeling it radiates before you are fascinated to flip through those pages.

About the Book
We all often come across some interesting moments and incidents in our day-to-day living, but to pick up those elements and humorously present them to form a series of fun episodes that are real stress busters for readers, is a rather commendable job.
In the book ‘It’s Punny…Oops, I mean Funny’, the author has ‘pushed the pencil on her real-life episodes’ creating a perfect dose of laughter and smile for the readers through rib-tickling puns…oops…fun, relevant circumstances in a married couple’s life in the contemporary times, and satire-suffused narrative.
The readers can instantly identify with the anecdotes as they glide through the glimpses from the author’s life portrayed in an engrossing manner. While Mr. Husband and the author are pivotal to the funny stories, the heartwarming addition of Mr. Tots not only perfectly completes their lives but also seamlessly fits in the flow of amusing incidents.
Although I enjoyed almost every punchline in the book, these are few that would keep tickling me for a long time- ‘hilarious quotient of a happy life’, ‘subordinate replicas of Mr. Husband’, ‘parent-child age gap remains same’, ‘replace his elixir with poison’, and ‘Instagram worthy’.
The quotes at the beginning of each chapter are as amusing as the funny chapters ahead. The titles of the chapters are interesting. The language is comprehensible and lucid.
Concluding Thoughts
A quick read on-the-go or a refresher on lazy afternoons to cheer you up. A balanced dose of fun and entertainment wrapped in precise episodes. This one’s sure to leave you smiling, feeling light in the heart, and craving for a sequel.
