“Travelling teaches beyond books…originates memories and leaves footprints…”
In these testing times of Covid-19, there may be physical restrictions on exploring places freely, but our ‘Flights of fantasy’ flows outbound and unleashed to all the destinations we can imagine, have visited, or plan to see someday.
Refreshing some of my travel memories and recreating footprints through a virtual presentation, I ventured into writing about those beautiful places across the globe and formulated them into an eBook.
A month-long journey of cascading through emotional turmoil amidst this Lockdown… stealing a few hours daily, to write betwixt household work and family time …A roller-coaster ride throughout…And the unflinching support and encouragement from family and friends all the while!

‘Around the world through my lens” is a delectable peek into the travelogues of Jyoti. Smitten firmly by wanderlust, Jyoti along with her family have crisscrossed many places of interest across India, the US, Europe, UK, and Japan.
From these, the e-book is a carefully curated list of twenty-six destinations, in alphabetical order comprising a brief introduction, photographs, places of interest and chief attractions. Cleverly, where the places did not conform to an alpha-order, Jyoti has used delightful adjectives, sure to pique the readers’ interest.
What is especially interesting is the lack of verbosity; the twenty-six places have been encapsulated in ninety odd pages, serving if you may, a teaser for any destination which grabs you, which you may then wish to research further. The book clearly disclaims the collection to be professional advice; they are purely a personal point-of-view of the writer.
I enjoyed whenever Jyoti strayed off the beaten track; allowing me to take a gander at new destinations, now in my wish-list; Edinburgh, Isle of Wright, Lake District, Racine, Warwick, in addition to the more famous ones!
Hope to read more vignettes from Jyoti’s travel memoirs which will hopefully open up new vistas!
